The Lighthouse Initiative is a two-year plan for continuing in excellence in our current ministries while also providing for our
next exciting chapter to accommodate the growth
with which God has blessed us.
We would love to see everyone from every age and stage to join us in our goal of fulfilling God's vision for LBC by continuing to
shine His light to Bakersfield and beyond.
NOW: $5,000,000
We believe that following Jesus and being obedient to
His Word is what it means to be a Christian. Every ministry at Laurelglen Bible Church helps our church family and visitors become transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ and
deepen their walk with Him.
This defines LBC and all our ministries and personal relationships.
The first component of the Lighthouse Initiative
is to ensure that we faithfully continue our ministries and growth over the next two years.
NEXT: $10,000,000
The Great Commission calls believers to make fully devoted disciples of Christ, who in turn make more disciples. Our current campus can no longer accommodate the growth with which the Lord has blessed us. A new facility will give us the capacity to reach and disciple more people and it will serve as a hub for developing and sending leaders to plant both domestic and international churches for the Glory of Jesus Christ.
The second component of the Lighthouse Initiative is to close the financial gap between a new church facility and the sale of our current campus and what we will need to borrow.

FAQs
HOW LONG UNTIL WE MOVE?
Construction could begin within a year depending on fundraising. Construction of a project like this typically takes 18-24 months.
Will there be multiple phases when we build?
Our desire is to complete construction in one phase and then move all at once so our ministries can continue with as little disruption as possible.
HOW BIG WILL THE NEW CHURCH BE?
We have been given ten acres of land (compared to our current four). Lord willing, we’d build a worship center with twice as much seating, an adult classroom building, and a kids’ building. And no more parking around the block, with a 60% increase in parking spaces!
What will happen to the current property?
Our hope is that a smaller, growing church will buy our current site and make it their home so the neighborhood will still have a church. If that’s not possible, we will consider other buyers.
WILL WE CHANGE THE NAME OF THE CHURCH?
Yes, since we won’t be located in Laurelglen anymore. Possible names are being discussed by leadership.
WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DON'T RAISE ENOUGH MONEY?
A new plan would have to be made, because God has grown our ministries so much that our current facility can no longer accommodate us. Whatever amount of money we raise will go toward somehow expanding.
