Who is Jesus? Is he really God? Was he really God who became a man? Why did he come? Does he really care about me? How do I know for sure?
John, the apostle, was an eyewitness of Jesus Christ. He walked and talked with Him for three years. He saw Jesus heal, heard Him teach, and observed His tender compassion to the hurting and the lost. He witnessed Jesus’ death and met with Him when He was raised from the dead. He watched Jesus ascend into the sky and was there when the promised Holy Spirit was given to the believers.
John had no doubt that Jesus was who He claimed to be. He wants us to experience the same life-changing assurance. There are many strange ideas floating around today about God and how He operates. Most of these ideas are not based on truth but on man’s idea of whom he wishes God to be.
As you begin this study, pray and ask God to solidify in your heart and mind who Jesus really is and why He came.
