Colossians
Are you lacking strength? We all do at times and Paul writes this letter to us to give us
tools and principles to lead us into a deeper understanding of the power we have in Jesus
Christ.
Ray Stedman writes:
“The Colossians had a problem, and it is on this problem that the apostle is primarily
focusing. They were on the verge of losing their understanding of the power by which
Christian life is lived. Therefore, this letter is the great proclamation and explanation of
the power of the Christian’s life through Christ as the resource of the individual. The
theme of this letter can be expressed by these words which are part of the apostle’s
introductory prayer for the Colossian Christians: May you be strengthened with all
power, [that is why he wrote the letter] according to his glorious might [That is the
