Curious about God?
Life’s Greatest Adventure
The greatest adventure in life is coming to know God in a personal way through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus says in John 14:6 NIV, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Accepting Christ as Your Savior
Have you come to a point where you are ready to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior? When people talk about “becoming a Christian,” this is what they mean. It’s as simple as A-B-C:
A-Acknowledge that you have sinned.
The word “sin” actually means “missing the mark” God has set for you. Everyone has missed the mark and, therefore, sinned. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 NIV).
B-Believe in Jesus.
The word “believe” means to have more than “head knowledge” of Jesus. It actually means a belief that leads to an action. That action is placing total trust and faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins. The Bible says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31 NIV).
C-Commit your life to follow Jesus.
When you have placed your full trust in Jesus, it’s only natural that you will want to live your life in a way that glorifies Him. His Word in the Bible and the Holy Spirit that will live within you will help guide you in living that life daily.
Luke 9:23-24 NIV “Then he said to them all: ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.’”
Coming to know Jesus begins with a simple prayer telling God in your own words that you have failed to live up to His holy standards and need His help to live your life. You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer. Prayer is simply talking with God who knows your heart and is not as concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer:
Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving me of my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If it does, pray this prayer right now, and Christ will come into your life as He promised. And remember: “God loved the world so very, very much that He gave His only Son. Because He did that, everyone who believes in Him will not lose his life, but will live forever” (John 3:16 World English).
