Love Bakersfield
On April 24th, 2010 the Jesus community of Bakersfield will join together for the 2nd year to offer our bodies in a day of service to our community… and this year we are inviting the entire BAKERSFIELD church community to join us. We will gather together to love our neighbors the same way we love ourselves. We will provide practical needs to our community as well as make some friends. Young, old or in-between, YOU can play a part in caring for our community on this amazing day. Sign-ups will begin in late March, so get your hearts and hands ready to serve! Pressing service needs: those who can cut hair, do minor home and car repair, or are Spanish speakers. Please contact Grace Cabalka ASAP if you can meet one of these specific needs.
Here is what is planned so far:
- Breakfast at LBC
- Minor home repair in the LBC neighborhood
- Bike repair at CASTLE PARK
- Work projects at CASTLE SCHOOL
- Neighborhood clean up (Graffitti Removal)
- Free Hair Cuts, Clothes and Food
- Mobile Medical Unit
- Any other ideas are welcome!
What will you do?
We need everyone’s help to make this a great day!
- Will you commit to PRAY that as we offer our bodies we will truly give from hearts that love and worship JESUS? (Romans 12)
- Will you PRAY that this will be a unifying day for the community of believers in the city of BAKERSFIELD?
- Will you PRAY that as we shine our lights, our community will praise our FATHER? (Matthew 5)

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside those going through life’s most difficult experiences, led by people who understand these challenges. GriefShare begins a new 13-week session on Sunday, February 14th from 4:00 – 5:30 pm in room A-5. Click here for more information.
